Electronic Dating
This first report, The Evolution and History of Electronic Dating, presents a history of the phenomenon of romantic partnering via electronic networked communications systems. In order to properly delineate a history of electronic dating, this report will begin by defining and extrapolating the Western societal practice of dating, how that practice became mirrored in electronic wired communication technologies, subsequently ushering in the age of electronic dating, the eventual societal impact of electronic dating, and, most importantly, the early (1840s to 1940s), middle (1950s to 1980s), and latter periods (1990s) of the phenomenon.
